Here’s where the wolves live in Sweden

How many wolves are living in Sweden? The answer upon this question may vary from one day to another. Nobody knows exactly. Several wolf home territories stretch over the border between Sweden and Norway. So, for the part of these two countries it seems better to speak about a common wolf population.

The inventory made during the winter 2020/2021 pointed to a total of 450 wolves in the two countries, of which around 395 lived in Sweden.

The map below shows where the wolf is present in Sweden. However, the wolf can trot long ways and young wolves abandon their families. This means that wolves all of a sudden may appear almost anywhere in the country.
